Assignment 1 (Michaela's story)

Diamonds in the sky
Twinkling oh so high
With the biggest diamond of all,
dressed like a crystal ball

But there's another that inhabits the sky
The yellow clock that sails by and by,
Looking down on us...
Like an eye

Yes... I am Michaela. I love looking up at the sky at night, seeing all of Gods works and wonders twinkling down at me...
I am the blonde haired one of us three. No, I am not a dumb blonde, though SOMEONE calls me a "blonde" a lot... (Of coarse, Lacey, I couldn't mean you...-_-).
It hasn't been said yet, but we are cousins. Carrie is my cousin and Lacey is Carrie's cousin!

I love being outside in the immense woods of Alaska, exploring with my dogs and walking alone, enveloped in my own thoughts. I enjoy making people laugh and smile, as I am usually pretty light hearted and giggly!!! I love playing the piano and guitar, and even though I'm pretty much a novice in guitar, I'm learning fast!  Until now I have basically lived at Yes Bay Lodge- Ketchikan, Alaska all my life. And since we have been living out at the lodge pretty much all year around I have been homeschooled all my life!! We fish and swim in the summer and shovel snow and sled in the winter! It is a very unique life style and I love every bit of it!
I take my camera everywhere I go (I refer to it as my baby). Its amazing that all three of us have a love for photography, its pretty special!!
I am so grateful that God has given me these ladies as my friends, and I hope to learn much from them, as we all have much to give...

Me and my little sister, Saylor.

Assignment 1 (Carrie's story)

Purple waves, the sea and sky. Red roses, flashing eyes. Black sunlight, laughter, pain.

Dancing in the Colored Rain.

- -

I'm Carrie. I live here in the colored rain of Alaska. I love art and music. I fell in love with guitar the first time I heard a country tune and I can play for hours just listening to the sound. I paint and draw and of-course take pictures. The outdoors has always been my home and I could drive a boat before I could walk... or almost. Not really. But close. I love to hike and play sports and drive my little red Toyota Tacoma.
God has made my life so amazing.
I'm lovin' it.
(Yeah I know, I know that's McDonalds jingle)
(mayeb I like McDonalds)

So this is me.
...Ready to embarc on the next adventure.
(and because Tigger was always my favorite): TTFN

Assignment 1 (Lacey's story)

As I sit here writing this, I occasionally gaze out my wind.  The clouds have parted, and the sun is peeking through.  What a great state I live in!  The assignment this week was to "describe yourself" more or less.  I thought I would start off by introducing myself.

This is Me!

A brief description.

I love running it's very freeing!  I may have a dry sense of humor sometimes... (sometime)   I love social events, people, and my friends!  I feel very privileged to be doing this blog with some of my closet friends, and fellow photographers!  I admire you ladies lots.  I enjoy writing, dissecting things for biology, baking, pilates, yoga, and I try to eat healthy, but...  I love ice cream!  So I'm still working on the whole "healthy eating: thing.  Family and Friends are very important factors in my life!  I have an older sister, and a little brother... (They are both adorable!)  My parents are awesome, and we are all very close!  One of my many "role models" is Bethany Hamilton!  That girl has an amazing story!  I also love a good book.  My latest read is "The Count of Monte Cristo" I only have 999 pages left!!  Oh well :)  I love music!  I'm a freshman in High School, and am Homeschooled!  As for any 9th grader, I have my battles, one of them Algebra.  It's positively awful. I hope you've enjoyed getting to a little bit more about me!

This is myself, and my adorable little brother!  He's so much bigger now, but still a cutie!

My Sister and I!  Sometimes I think we look nothing alike.. :)  I hope you all have a lovely week!

Beginnings

And so commences the start of Photography Plus: a picture journal of our lives and product of our endeavors to pursue the art of photography.

The format will loosely follow the standard of weekly assignments alternately posted by Lacey, Michaela and I. What we come up with will be shared along with other spontaneous posts. Photography Plus will also be a place to share random inspirations, words and pictures of wisdom and many other things to liven your day.

But before we dive straight in, we will give you a glimpse of each of us:
(Assignment) Submit an artistic rendition of your own profile. It can be a single photo with a wordy description, or a creative compilation of pictures of yourself with maybe only a small caption.

(if the picture was taken by a third party remember to reference their name)

Just remember:
A picture is worth a thousand words.
